Muzej KoprivnicaMuseum of Koprivnica

Museum of the city of Koprivnica is situated in the building of the old city hall which was particularly important in the town history because it is the oldest preserved brick building in the city which was used as magistracy from the 17th century, and later as sub-county office, District Court with the city prison, space for UNHCR and political party SDK, while one part of the building was used as a temporary accommodation and social apartment. Since 1963 most of the building was used for the purposes of the Museum of the city of Koprivnica, and it wasn’t until 1997 that the entire magistracy was used for the purposes of the Museum of the city of Koprivnica as a public institution of common good.

The current museum exhibition includes Civil liberty charters of the city of Koprivnica from 13th-15th century, stone monuments from 14th – 18th century, the exhibition Koprivnica in public and private and the exhibition dedicated to the Homeland war which envisages the military and political history of the city in the first half of the 1990-s, precisely until liberating actions Flash and Storm in 1995, through numerous collection of photographs and objects of military and police forces of Koprivnica.
