Naïve painting is indigenous Croatian style of painting which shows traditional motives of rural life in harmony with nature and all its beauty. It emphasizes traditional life of villages in Podravina and beauty of wide meadows, forests and fields. This is also the reason why each summer the city of Koprivnica is transformed for a weekend into a big open exhibition area dedicated to naïve art. About hundred renowned painters exhibit their art and create new art pieces on-spot, under the clear sky of Podravina, celebrating thus enchanting plethora and artistic achievements of the Hlebine School of Painting.
