Naïve art gallery Hlebine was founded in 1968 as a separate department of the City museum in situ in the newly built museum - gallery building (architect and academician Miroslav Begović, 1968) which was expanded in the first half of the 20th century with new museum features: Sculpture park of Hlebine gallery (1974) and museum collection of Ivan Generalić (1985). The gallery is a place of permanent exhibition of paintings donated by Ivan Generalić, collection of glass paintings of first (Ivan Generalić, Franjo Mraz, Mirko Virius) and second (Franjo Filipović, Dragan Gaži, Josip Generalić, Francina Dolenec, Mijo Kovačić, Ivan Večenaj) generation of original painters and sculptors of the so called “school of Hlebine” and a showroom with temporary exhibitions of artists who shaped their artistic expression under the influence of original art from the circle of Podravina.
