The gallery in Koprivnica was founded in 1977 as a separate department of the City museum in the building of the First People's Savings Bank (Gjuro Carnelutti, 1904). The gallery is a showroom with a large number of valuable museum collections (collection of old masters, prints, drawings, architectural drawings and designs and modern and contemporary art with an emphasis on the collection of the works of artists who are related to Koprivnica or this part of Podravina region through their origin, residence or activities). Around thirty renowned academic painters and sculptors from the Koprivnica area, who have started their public appearances in the gallery as well as approximately ten contemporary art exhibitions held each year in the gallery at 220 m2 confirm the high achievements of contemporary art scene.
